Hello my friend hope all is well with you. I hope our friend is happy with
his rear end. The safety loop should be mounted on the front of the drive
shaft. The purpose of this... if the drive shaft should break at the front
of the shaft the shaft will fall down and hit the road. However two things
happen. One is the shaft is still connected at the back on the rear end so
the drive shaft will still be turning because the rear end is still turning
as the car is rolling. This results is the shaft beating the car to death as
the car rolls to a stop. The other thing that could happen is the shaft gets
caught on a rough place in the road and digs in, thus catapulting the back
of the car up into the air and destroying not only the rear end but the back
of the car. You want to mount the loop as far forward on the shaft as you
can preferably just behind the slip yoke on the smooth part of the shaft.
Hope this is helpful!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Allan
